The fixture between Palermo and Sampdoria at Stadio Renzo Barbera could be decisive for the fight salvation. Blucerchiarti have almost avoid the relegation thank to eight points clear the third-bottom split, just occupied by Rosanero. Palermo are three points behind Carpi because of Biancorossi win against Empoli during last week.

The situation in Sicily is very hard. There have been eight coaches in Palermo bench because of the impulsive nature of Maurizio Zamparini, their president. Supporters are clearly not happy for the list split and are asking players to give all they have to reach the Serie A salvation. Rosanero conquered the Serie A promotion thanks to coach Guidolin and striker Luca Toni in 2004 and thanks to coach Iachini two seasons ago. Carpi looks in a better form than Sicilians, but the different society economic price range imposes Palermo to come from behind to avoid the relegation.

“The Sunday fixture against Lazio is a very important game for us because we gamble the Serie A salvation”, as Palermo vice president Guglielmo Miccichè told Meridionews. “I disagree with prefecture’s decision because a city like Palermo and his football supporters don’t deserve this treatment. This decision has surprised us. I don’t know how many supporters will come to Sicily. They have already achieved the salvation, so it is a not so much important fixture for them”, he said about the prefectures’s decision to not make all Palermo supporters go to Stadio Renzo Barbera after Palermo v Lazio brawls.

“I’m really astonished for this decision”, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini kept on talking about this theme to Radio Kiss Kiss. “The only behaviour which has been made Palermo supporters look stupid in the last thirteen years has happened two weeks ago. Palermo supporters are the best ones I met in my career. Because of about four stupid people prefecture decided to prevent respectable Rosanero fans to go to stadium”.

Sampdoria could celebrate the Serie A salvation in Sicily. When president Massimo Ferrero chose Vincenzo Montella to substitute Walter Zenga on Blucerchiati bench, all supporters were happy to finally have a coach whose obsession is the organisation of his play. Nevertheless, good results haven’t been achieved and Montella is asking football market guarantees to continue his adventure in Liguria.

“At the beginning of the next season we will start with coach Montella”, the sparkling Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero told Samp TV. “I don’t want to talk about the salvation, because we haven’t achieved it so far. We must fight at Stadio Renzo Barbera without interesting in the other salvation contenders. Let’s go to conquer three point in Sicily!”.

“It’s the last chance for Palermo. The Carpi win against Empoli complicated Rosanero situation and they must absolutely win over Sampdoria”, as the Rosanero and Blucerchiati ex-striker Filippo Maniero said. “If they don’t manage to achieve three points the situation will be really difficult because the distance between them and the fourth-bottom would be easy to erase”.

Keep an eye on: Alberto Gilardino (Palermo) – Born in Biella, this striker has played for Genoa, Blucerchiati derby contenders, during three seasons scoring 19 goals in 50 caps. After having become the 11th scorer of Serie A history, with another goal he could reach a legend like Alessandro Del Piero at 10th placement. Moreover, it could be also one of the last caps in Serie A for him because of the next football market.
